Describing Characters in a Story using Voki Avatars

Students in first grade were creating Voki avatars for a language arts lesson about characters and their feelings. The students used their Voki avatars to help them understand the feelings of Farmer Brown from a story they had been reading. The process of creating a Voki avatar involved selecting a character that represented Farmer Brown and then adding details such as a background that fits the character, clothing that a farmer would wear, and finally recording themselves saying an expression that the farmer would say. As you can see from the pictures, they were engaged and had fun using this tool.
