Students at Bluebonnet learned about commercials and the use of persuasion in a library lesson using Common Sense Media and Nearpod. They were asked to look at a picture or website and determine what was the purpose of the product or site. They had to determine how commercials or a website got their attention and what strategies companies use to get people to try their products. Students looked at different sites including one that asked them to log in which tied into digital citizenship. Students were told about how careful they need to be when sharing information about themselves, and that they should not be creating accounts.
