Discovery Hour Fall 2017

Bricks 4 Kidz


Kinder – 5th grade students will use Lego® brick kits to dive into imaginative hands on learning through tinkering exploration and creative building.


Computer Game Making

Bits, Bytes, & Bots

3rd – 5th graders will learn to create professional looking computer games. At the end of the course, students will get to take home their game on a CD with resources to continue to develop their new skills.


GEMS United


4th & 5th grade girls will meet together to learn how to empower one another and learn skills from successful women in the community to become the greatest version of themselves!


Learning Fun 101


Kinder – 2nd grade students will get an opportunity to embrace their creative side while using problem solving skills and enhancing their social skills through STEM activities.


Camp Einstein


Kinder – 5th grade students will engage in project-based learning in an exciting lab course. This class will spark scientific curiosity in students while providing a unique learning environment.


Lego® Movie Making

4Reelz School of Film

Kinder – 5th grade students will create a stop motion movie using Legos®. Students will learn about technology in the field of film with the chance to create their own story.


Impact Martial Arts


2nd – 5th grade students will learn the skills and discipline that come with martial arts. Students will also receive an authentic martial arts uniform to keep!


Pup Soccer Academy

2nd & 3rd Grade Students will learn basic soccer skills and have weekly scrimmages.


Junior Random Acts of Kindness

Katie Elder

Kinder – 2nd grade students will plan school wide random acts of kindness. Students will focus on how to make a positive impact on their community.


Random Acts of Kindness Leadership

3rd – 5th grade students will plan school wide random acts of kindness,  display leadership skills, and provide a positive impact on their community.


Latin Dance Troupe

4th grade students will learn traditional Latin Dance and perform in colorful costumes at various community events.


Bulldog STEAM Choir

Kelley Glover

3rd – 5th grade students will sing, play instruments and compose their own music. Students will also have the chance to experience a real life recording studio!


Jazz Funk

Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday

2nd – 5th grade students will learn a variety of hip-hop moves with music and will learn two new routines by the end of the semester to perform at pep rallies and other events


Destination Imagination

4th and 5th grade students will practice with improv, script writing, and brain bender activities with the chance to compete against other teams in the Spring. *Session will run 3:15 – 5:15*

Bulldog Bootcamp

2nd and 3rd grade students will perform skills and drills to increase their athletic ability in addition to learning about teamwork and social skills.


Just Tap!

Amanda Ragsdale

Kinder – 2nd grade students will learn a variety of tap dance moves. Over the course of the semester, students will also learn routines for a final dance.


Reading and Crafting Fun

Kinder – 2nd grade students will read a story and complete an arts and crafts activity to go with the book. Students will enjoy tapping into their creative sides!


Garden & Art Club

5th grade students will combine art with gardening. Gardeners and artists will  grow produce to enjoy and take home a plant in a student-made pot.


Bulldog Soccer Academy

4th and 5th grade students will learn soccer skills, teamwork, and social skills through drills and scrimmages.


Hula Hoop Church

Tuesday and Thursday

3rd through 5th grade students will build strength through hula hoop skills and learn hula hoop routines. Attendance on both days is required.

3rd & 4th grade students will play classic board games while practicing social skills, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.
